7 days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech via Fes and the desert
Day 1: Tanger- Tetauan – Chefchaouen
We Pick up you from the airport, ferry or in your Riad, and we drive through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city to enjoy the views of
the beautiful mountains till we get to Chefchaouen, one of the most visited spots in the north of Morocco; Chefchaouen is often
described as the city of light with its blue painted houses and traditional rhythm located in the feet of Rif mountains.
It’s a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky arts and crafts stores, roof-top cafes and restaurants, where you will spend your
night and have free time to enjoy in a nice place the breeze and the beauty of the nature. At around 10PM, we will have a Yoga
streching session and Meditation before going to sleep.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After your breakfast, we will travel to Fes via Rif mountain, Volubilis and Meknes. In Volubilis, you will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis
(a Unesco World Heritage Site), the most important Roman ruins in the Kingdom of Morocco. Later, we will have a visit at Moulay
Idriss, one of the holiest towns of morocco. We will continue to Meknes, the 17th century heritage where we will stop for lunch and
hang around the historical huge walls of the Medina , Bab el Mansour, Sahet Lhdim Squar (a smaller version of Jemaa el-Fnaa
square) and enjoy a visit of moulay Ismail’s shrine . After the visit of Meknes we will drive directly to Fes city where you will spend
This evening, we will have a dinner in a Moroccan house, with a Moroccan family, to discover the beauty of the architechture and interne designs, also it is an opportunity to communicate with them, and know much about an old culture from the other side.
Day 3: Fez “Guided Tour “
Early morning 6:30 AM you will enjoy a delicious Moroccan breakfast. Then we will take a tour to the Pottery Village in Fes, and you will see at firsthand the entire process of the craft of Moroccan pottery and zellige. The process starts with first soaking the clay in water for a week, then kneading it first by foot (think
“stomping grapes”) then by hand in order to release any bubbles and create a soft, pliable material.
After lunch, we will start your guided tour to the old medina, one of the world’s largest walled city. You will explore the narrow streets lined with mounds of spices, fresh fruit intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects the country.
You will visit the Quaraouine Mosque founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihria and the Andalussian Mosque dating back to 860. Then, the Nejjarine fountain, Medersas (Qoranic schools) founded as early as the thirteenth century ,Batha Palace now a museum of arts and
traditions, Tanneries, Souk Attarine, one of the liveliest in the city ,Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics, Mellah and the
17th century Ibn Danan synagogue,the Kings Palace.
After the tour, we will go to shop some vegetables which we will need for our Moroccan traditional cooking class that we will assist to see how chefs prepare it.
Day 4: Fez / Midelt/ Ziz Valley
After breakfast you will begin your ascent. We will pass through Ifrane city, a winter ski resort in a totally European style, built by the French in the 1930’s its called Switzerland of Morocco; we will drive across the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Most of the day, we will spent winding our way through the amazing forests, and Berber villages as we cross the Atlas Mountains, then we begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert.
Half way, we will stop for lunch in Midelt small city, famous for its fossils and rocks, and then we head to Erfoud via Errachidia and the Ziz valley with its palm trees, there we will spend the night.
Late at night, we will have a Yoga class to stretch our body after a long journey of excitement. Overnight and rest.
Day 5: Ziz vally- Erfoud-Rissani-Merzouga
In the Valley, we will wake up early and we will have a Yoga class and a meditation in movement. That will connect us with everything that sorrounds us in the middle of the nature.
Then shower and breakfast, you will have free time to explore the Ziz Valley, before we go for a special lunch and try a local delicious food called Medfouna or Berber pizza. The word Medfouna means “buried,” and it refers to the delectable stuffing of meat, suet,
herbs and spices which is hidden within the bread crust. Hard boiled eggs and fried almonds are traditional but optional additions, you will have chance to see how locals make this food.
In the afternoon we will continue our tour to Merzouga , Depending on your arrival to the traditional Kasbah on the foot of the dunes
of erg-chebbi. After stopping for a rest, a mint tea, the guide and the camels will be waiting to take you across the sandy dunes of
the Erg-chebbi. You will be enjoying the beautiful sunset on the camel. After two hours, you will reach the desert camp to spend
the night in a berber tent. At your desert shelter, your camels are hobbled and mint tea is served. After a nice dinner, watch the Stars
in the inmense infinity & Overnight in the Berber Tent.
Day 7 :Ouarzazate / Kasbah Ait ben Haddou / Marrakech
After breakfast, we will visit the town of Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios for movie studios, the
largest and most famous of all Africa. From here we head to the Fint Oasis, near Ouarzazate.
We will stop in Ait Ben Hadou. Arrival just in time for lunch. Here, we will visit the famous Kasbah, declared UNESCO World Heritage
and which was the scene of films like, Babel, The Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, we will continue passing through the High
Atlas and the Tizin Tichka pass, along a road that climbs from the plains up to 2,250 meter above sea level passing through small
villages, small waterfalls, through the continuously changing landscape and colors of these amazing mountains. We will reach
Marrakech in the afternoon. You may be able to have some free time in the old part of the city. Dinner and Overnight.
End of the your tour. Next day if you depart from Marrakech you will be transfered to the Airport early in the morning.
