Asilah City

A gorgeous seaside city on the northern coast of Morocco, Asilah has a rich and diverse history.

With roots as far back as the 16th century BC, when it was on the most important trade route used by the Phoenicians, it was later colonized by the Portuguese before becoming under Moroccan rule in the 17th century.

Each following culture and society has left its mark on the city, making modern day Asilah an attractive display of Morocco’s unique heritage.

A Portuguese fortress leans precariously over the cliffs, while fascinating blue and white Moroccan houses line the streets.
