From Fez To Bhalil and Sefrou
Discover the two Moroccan cities of Sefrou and Bhalil located in the Middle Atlas!
Sefrou, the white city located at 800 meters altitude, is a small Berber town in the foothills of the Middle Atlas mountains, it’s an appealing site on the borders of Fes and the Atlas chains.
It also has an interesting history as a Jewish town, reflected in the architecture and interiors of some of the houses.
The medina is interesting for wandering, and there are good walks around the town, including waterfalls
. Sefrou’s location enables it to be an important agricultural site where the Cherry Festival is celebrated every June.
Bhalil is a tiny village a few minutes driving from Sefrou by a road that climbs in the middle of olive groves.
We come to Bhalil, famous for its cave dwellings and in some of the houses caves are used as a main room.
